Dirty coils are one of the most overlooked problems in home HVAC systems. Most homeowners don't think about them until something goes wrong - reduced airflow, higher energy bills, or air that just doesn't smell right. By the time it's noticeable, the buildup has usually been there for a while.

Here's what we were working with on this one. The coil unit was pulled and opened up for a full cleaning. Debris and grime had worked their way into the coil fins, which restricts the system's ability to transfer heat properly. When that happens, your system runs harder and longer to do the same job. A proper coil cleaning gets everything back to where it should be.

We also tackled the air treatment side of things. The second part of this job involved swapping in a UV lamp - a better long-term solution for keeping the coil and surrounding components cleaner between service visits. UV air treatment systems work by neutralizing mold, bacteria, and other contaminants before they have a chance to build up on your coil or circulate through your home. It's a small addition that pays off over time.

These are the kinds of fixes that don't always get attention, but they matter. A clean coil and a solid air treatment setup means better efficiency, cleaner air, and less strain on a system you're counting on. Small fixes, done correctly, add up to a system that runs the way it's supposed to.
